This is a software tool that helps emulate the sound of piano with additional effects.
Absolute piano Steinway B emulates the sounds produced by a piano. It seems to have been named to suggest that the sound quality produced is like the famous Steinway piano made of wood and strings in classical fashion.
It is based on a quality sound bank and is supposedly quite optimized to produce very realistic sound; like the classic Steinway perhaps. Only a sound/musical instrument aficionado would probably be able to differentiate. That is all the more reason for any user to try it out extensively. You would be able to shape the sound (the sound spectrum created) by virtue of a three band shelving filter. This waveform sculpting, or selecting appropriate frequencies from the complex waveform, is able to help you produce warm or old piano, ragtime or classical sound easily.
Several effects available add to the variety this tool is able to create. The reverbarator, the chorus and the peak boost are some of these effects available. The reverbarator should give you a warm sound and does not add any ringing resonance. The chorus will emulate the piano bar style. The peak boost adds a punch to the sound and compresses and limits the sound simultaneously. In the rock and pop styles, the multi-tap echo can be synchronized to the tempo.
Pre-recorded background sound, such as restaurant, or concert ambiance to weird forest, thunder, sea, mountain wind, snow, etc. can be mixed to add to the overall effect. A whole range of synthesis is possible through low pass, high pass, band pass, and notch filters, with a constant gain and saturation, resonance and self oscillation, as also the volume envelope. This is an extremely good product that is not only feature rich but is easy to use and is a comprehensive tool.
